Meet Fiona!

Before coming to the Humane Society of St. Thomas, Fiona lived near the dumpsters in an area on St. Thomas called Caret Bay. There she spent her days roaming the streets, searching for food and doing whatever she could to survive. When a Good Samaritan found Fiona and brought her to the Humane Society, the staff could tell that she had recently been nursing puppies. The next day, the Good Samaritan went back to where she was found and located her puppies, all of whom have since all been adopted!
That is the good news...the bad news is that Fiona has been at the Shelter for 113 days! And while the HSSTT is a much better environment for her than the life she left behind, 113 days is a long time for sweet Fiona to be waiting for her turn.
What we know about Fiona

- She is 41 pounds of pure love.
- She’s a 2 years old, spayed female with a rich and varied lineage!
- She is one of the most playful dogs at the shelter.
- She LOVES playing with toys and other dogs.
- She's good on a leash.
- She is not a big fan of cats, so would prefer a home without one
It is important to know that Fiona is heartworm positive and will need treatment. That just means she needs a quiet, safe place to recover. The HSSTT staff can explain her treatment needs.
She’s a tough girl, she lived on the streets and she raised her babies there. Now, it’s her turn.
Fiona is waiting for her person. Someone to love her, give her a warm bed, a home, and a family of her own.

Fiona is available for foster or adoption. If you don’t live on St. Thomas, you can still adopt her! Staff at the HSSTT can help arrange transportation to get Fiona to her forever home stateside!
113 days is enough! Please share with friends or family who might be the right fit for this sweet island girl!
